HAIKU, 2004

Description

HAIKU

Haiku is a double slide projection with 80 slides per projector. The upper image shows excerpts from life from around the globe; the lower image shows the flow of a dirty river. Every eighth slide is from the former Yugoslavia. Only in that case do both images match, showing the same place.

Haiku is a project about traveling, traveling through foreign countries and through familiar thoughts. A blues song says: “Wherever I travel there’s trouble everywhere.” Maybe because trouble is traveling with you?
