SOUS LES PAVÉS, LES JEUX, 2022
Description
When I came to see the premises of the Jean-Cocteau Cultural Center, this fountain immediately marked me as a vestige of times past. Her empty pelvis was almost painful. So I decided to fill it again. Fill it with light, marbles and cobblestones. The piece is called “Sous les pavés les jeux” and refers to the famous slogan of May 68 “under the cobblestones the beach”. Maybe this means that once we get rid of the weight of what oppresses us, we will find, buried, playfulness and beauty. This work associates cobblestones and marbles, marbles that cross the generations and keep all their magic for children.
